QUESTIONS FROM BROWNSVILLE ATTORNEY TIM LOPES

Attorney Tim Lopes

During the wee hours, my phone pinged with a Facebook response and query from Brownsville attorney Tim Lopes presenting an entire smorgasbord of issues.

Mr. Lopes:

"Political games are alive and well, no? However, I'd love to hear what you think about cocaine in the WH.

What if that was Trump? That would be a shit storm, no?

What of the Ukraine/Biden connection?

What about the early, chaotic exit from Afghanistan?

What of Biden's historical statements on immigration and gay marriage?

Don't be hyprocrites.  I recognize Trump was a screw up 99 different ways.  What say you of Biden?

Let's be honest.  You think this "historic"economic rebound has nothing to do with covid bounceback?  Please."

OK, let me comment without using up this year's alotment of blog space:

Joe Biden, in my view, has been an adequate president, a caretaker, not spectacular, but adequate.

He's an elderly man, a stutterer, who doesn't articulate or make a case for his presidency as well as Barack Obama, but few have.

My impression is that our allies, in Europe, NATO, Mexico, Canada and elsewhere view the U.S. as more stable, more reliable than they did 16-20.

The economy?  It's whirring along right now, although prognosticator's forecasts have been gloomy.  Of course, they don't know the future and neither do I.

Cocaine in the White House?  Drugs permeate our entire society including government officials, lawyers, judges, housewives and retirees.

Something is creating the demand that fuels the production and distribution in Colombia, Mexico and elsewhere.

Ukraine/Biden?  No proven wrongdoing yet on Joe Biden, but don't understand how or why Hunter Biden's ass is involved.

Immigration?  Congress has to formulate a comprehensive policy, but they've proven themselves incapable.  Of course, buoys and razor wire are part of a poorly-thought-out publicity stunt by our grandstanding governor.

Exit from Afghanistan?  Poorly handled.

Oh, one more.  Gay marriage?

Well, I'm pretty certain Biden's viewpoint has evolved over the years, just as mine has.

  1. Good answers. It is very surprising to see drugs being used by all types of people, professions, careers and age groups. Drugs make people happy and that is one of the reasons for drug use.

    1. That "happiness" is very temporary. Drugs ruin lives.
