IBC, once known as International Bank of Commerce, in recent years identifies itself as International Bancshares Corporation, since it's not actually an international bank, but simply has depositors as well as shareholders in Mexico and the U.S., but no banks in Mexico.
I've held an account with IBC for 19 years despite problems with the service over the years.
One of the consistant problems has been the slow processing of my two monthly direct deposits.
In 2018, returning from the Philippines, a deposit that should have been credited on a Thursday was held over until the following Monday creating some terrible inconveniences.
In the last few days, we've encountered a problem with the charge of a hotel pre-authorization for hundreds of dollars.
The hotel did not actually submit the item as a charge and gave us a receipt showing it had been "voided," yet IBC charged anyway and is claiming it needs 7 days to make the correction.
The pre-authorization is intended to determine you have enough money in your account to pay the bill.
Still, I assume much of the blame for not changing banks in 2018 as I should have.
