"Downtown is going to be completely different in the next 24 months," stated Josh Mejia, Executive Director of the Brownsville Community Development Corporation.
The BCIC has doled out $2 million of the $10 million bequeathed to the City of Brownsville by Elon Musk, using it for nine projects with well-developed plans to start downtown businesses.
Mejia told Steve Clark of the Brownsville Herald that he hopes that quick results downtown will prove to Musk that his foundation's money is well spent and elicit more funding from Musk.
