Barrón, what’s going on with Michael lopez of the city? He’s been entirely erased from the website and now there is an open ACM position on the city’s HR page.
ReplyDeleteUnions are no good if you ask the City of Brownsville. Under the new city manager and new commissioners, they are doing everything in their power to squeeze the police union on next contract. No wonder officers are looking for better paying jobs with better benefits elsewhere! They are the smart ones. Those of us who stuck around and proudly retired from the PD are now threatened with piss poor insurance. Those who are still working are really getting shafted with no raises and laughable insurance.
ReplyDeleteMy advice to the younger generation is to get out while you can. It's very noble career, but the City of Brownsville or should I say it's current leaders don't give two shits about their police.
Police at least have a freakin' union. City custodians and other municipal employees do not. Stop whining and just do your job. It's always gimme-gimme with cops and firemen. smh

ReplyDeleteAgreed regarding all the other city employees. However, I researched you other claim and found it to be inaccurate the police side. It does look like you were right on the fire department. They have really taken the city for a ride with their contracts and lawsuits. Whatever the reason is or was, they city spent millions on the fire department.
