Mayor Tony Martinez |
"Tony, did you receive the email I sent you about appearing on the podcast to discuss Tenaska issues and how monies collected with the utility raises were being used?"
The mayor seemed puzzled, as if he either had not received the email or simply overwhelmed with a myriad of issues he was currently handling.
"You know with the MPO merger, first off, then on, now off again, our city commission meeting cancellation tonight and I have to actually run my campaign sometime," the mayor started.
"And, of course, with that question, there are a lot of things we can't get into. . . . We appeared with you guys that one time. We would have to get with P.U.B.," Martinez continued.
"As for the P.U.B., mayor, I've already talked to General Manager John Bruciak. He said that he would get with you to decide how to proceed on answering these questions," I replied.
"Well, maybe after the election, or maybe you could send us some written questions," the mayor answered.
Actually, we've already submitted written questions to the mayor, but we will post them here to refresh his recollection:
1. What is the current status of the Tenaska Power Plant?
2. How much money has been generated by the utility rate increases?
3. Has any of the funding generated been spent, and, if so, how?
4. How much is left of the money generated by the rate increases?
5. Proof of what exactly was told the rate-paying public at the time of the rate raises.
