From the editor: Shortly after we posted our conversation with a Mr. Amigo Association member about Mr. Amigo's sudden departure last week, before the Grand International Parade, we received this inbox message:
"And FYI, Mr. Amigo had to go attend the Mexico Tennis Open which he was a sponsor of (through TELCEL)."
So, the schedule conflict involved a tennis tournament for which Mr. Amigo 2018, Arturo Elias Ayub, was a sponsor.
Still, the question remains: Why would Ayub accept Mr. Amigo duties knowing he needed to be in Acapulco for his tennis tournament the same week?
Certainly, Arturo Trevino, who pushed Ayub for Mr. Amigo, knew about this scheduling conflict, but, for his own greedy reasons, sold Brownsville down river.
ReplyDeleteOf course, what else is Mr. Amigo group going to spin?
