DUARDO ACCUSES LOCAL REPUBLICANS OF "PLANTING" CAPTAIN BOB VS. EDDIE TREVINO IN PRIMARY

From the editor:  While Duardo Paz-Martinez's blogging missiles aimed at Brownsville are typically as accurate as Kim Jong Un's, his close kinship with Robert "Captain Bob" Sanchez is well documented.

The good captain, once a contributing writer or co-editor of "The Republic," maintains considerable email communication with the McAllen blogger.

So, we can't simply flush Duardo's claim, published below, down the spam filter.

We reprint Duardo's insider scoop below:

By DUARDO PAZ-MARTINEZ | Editor of The Republic
BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Well, it only confirms what everybody pretty much knew: that the candidacy as a Democrat of Republican Robert Sanchez in the March Primary against Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino had some input from city Republicans.
Robert "Captain Bob" Sanchez
“When I ran for county judge, she – Cameron County Republican Party Chair Morgan Cisneros Graham – came to me at a candidates forum at the college and gave me all sorts of info and adviceShe was nice and friendly then…”
What?! What’s that you say, Capt. Bob?
Graham approaching you with advise to be used against your then-fellow DemocratMofongo, dude! That is as outrageous stuff as there is in Brownsville, lad. Why would Republican Graham care about a however-new Democrat struggling to wage a campaign? Unless, unless, well, unless she thought Sanchez could beat Trevino and then “throw” the race against Republican Carlos H. Cascos.
You think, Maria?
I’m stunned!
Is this yet another wicked move in local politics? Sanchez apparently was a set-up candidate all along. That very thought had crossed many other local minds at the time of Sanchez’s stunning announcement that he was waylaying the GOP in favor of the Democratic Party. No one believed him, but there he was…on the ballot as a Democrat.
Now, it turns out, the crafty, sneaky, slippery Republicans knew all along that their man was being sacrificed, being advised on how to run his campaign by the woman still serving as figurehead of the county Republican Party. Sanchez lost by an 75% to 25% margin in the primary voting.
As we have said many times before, the laundry in politics is rarely clean.
Yep, those serpentine rumors and cunning innuendo serve as nothing more than the droopy political clotheslines strung all across town…

  2. Is the charge essentially that the head of the local Republican Party, Morgan Graham, colluded with Robert Sanchez to interfere with the Democratic Party Primary Election?

    1. Basically they’re saying she did what the Democrats pulled in the 2014 primary when they ran that Anglo bartender who didn’t campaign or anything as a Republican for County Judge against Cascos ....who immediately told people to vote straight ticket Democrat the day after primary voting.

    2. You’re like Trump tweeting But Hillary. There’s no evidence any high ranking Democrat official encouraged or influenced the bartender. According to Bob Sanchez, Morgan tried to influence and interfere with an election. Collusion.

    3. He said she was friendly and gave him advice. I’ve seen her talk to many Democrats and discuss their races including one of a close friend’s. She isn’t a hardcore who sees us all as the enemy and I think she’s sincere.

    4. Who is this Democrat you claim she helped? Republican precinct chairs deserve to know how their leaders helps the Democrat Party grow.

  3. Hard to see what your beef is with this, Jim? Explain, please.

  6. Morgan isn’t smart enough to pull this off. Someone else coordinated the obstruction of the Democratic election. Keep digging.

    1. She did it. She found a middle man. Ask her. It’s not the first time she’s tried to trick somebody into running in a primary to hit their campaign funds before a general. It’s not a new idea. Sanchez probably doesn’t even know.
