For over 8 months I had been trying to go through Open Records requesting Eddie Trevino's legal fees paid by PUB, with no success. Eddie has been hiding by using smoke and mirrors claiming the fee disclosure should not be available through open records, as it is sensitive and competitive. However, I was finally able to verify his legal fees with no help from the Attorney General and the total sum he has collected is $1,395,000 smackaroos. One Million Three Hundred Ninety Five Thousand Dollars as a simple Board attorney that is hired like Sossi to over see the board meeting compliance and open records. Eddie collected $1,395,000 from 2013 thru 2015, not including 2016. If Eddie did not have PUB as a client, he would probably starve, which is why Eddie wants to be County Judge.

ReplyDeleteYou can opine and allege all you want, but Dan Sanchez does not need defending when you compare Eddie Trevino's public service record, with the facts speaking for what to expect should Eddie get elected and the reason we should all unite behind Dan Sanchez for Cameron County Judge.
ReplyDeleteEddie as Brownsville city commissioner and as mayor did nothing to improve our city, other than wait for things to happen. Eddie did support special interest and developers with subsidies from PUB that resulted in the highest electrical rates in the state of Texas. Eddie Trevino married Carlos Marin and introduced the for profit Imagine Brownsville scam that has cost taxpayers over a million dollars and with nothing in return, other than providing a political based for himself and scamming public entities for the benefit of a select few, which has resulted in corrupting our city to a degree that has done so much irreparable harm to local democracy and fiscal responsible government. This is what has given us Mayor Tony Martinez, Charlie Cabler and others who have been feeding off our city. Eddie bartered the city manager's position for votes and gave Cabler a unprecedented contract with a raise and severance pay package that goes against our city charter and will cost us enormous sums of taxpayers monies. Thanks to Eddie, Cabler has a life time contract that should never been entered into and Eddie is an attorney that proved to care less about the city charter and the citizens of Brownsville. Besides the Imagine Brownsville scam, Eddie politically maneuvered a coup with the help of Manny Vasquez to remove PUB Board members for control of PUB, that has also resulted with disastrous results and he is now the PUB Board attorney, that has raped the utility system with exorbitant legal fees for a Board attorney with $1,395,000 and counting as of December 31, 2015. Eddie has fought to release to the public what he has been paid by PUB, which is a good indicator of what to expect if he should become County Judge, with no transparency to be expected. Eddie supports subsidies for his developer friends, but opposes LNG subsidies, when in reality Eddie will tell you as he always has what he believes will serve his benefit, because he is a scammer with no integrity. Need I continue? I don't think we can afford more of Eddie Trevino and no matter what you may say about Dan, I am confident people can put aside small differences and unite for the over all best interest of our county and will vote for Dan Sanchez for County Judge. We the people who seek transparency and integrity cannot take for granted that Dan will win, which is why I appeal to all like minded voters to unit and make sure we get our network of voters to vote early for Dan Sanchez. To those who want to believe Eddie Trevino is for bikers, against LNG, and anything he says, set this one issue aside, because Dan alone cannot do or stop anything without the majority on the commission voting for or against, therefore, do not let your perception cloud the over all good for our county based on a preferable preference on one issue that may or may not be true as to which Dan will support or be against on. Do not let others create a perception that serves their interest, but vote based on what is best for the over all good. Look at Gowen and the city manager, the whole city agenda is driven by Gowen's health agenda, which has resulted in the city ignoring everything else. We cannot elect people based on one issue, because like the city, it is too costly to run a city on Health mandated preferences of one commissioner. I am not a biker, nor a health nut by choice and Gowen has no right to force me into her definition of what is best for me. I want my streets paved, I want my utilities lowered, and I do not want the Health Director at her beck and call, nor the city treasury for her pet projects only. Vote for Dan Sanchez, because Dan will at least be transparent and uphold what is right. Thank you!

DeleteThe difference is that I am not running for office. I have already been down that road and have taken all of the criticism you and others could muster, but I am still here and relevant. FYI, I believed in Fly Frontera and think the safe guards based on service and production the city risk was minimal. And to date, there are no flights to Mexico, so you blast me for trying. I was gaining nothing, but was seeking to create jobs and improve our economy. Was that so wrong, just because you disagree? I don' think so. You claim victory, but at what price when you offer nothing and do nothing to bring flights from Mexcio to Brownsville. The Weir Damn was not a failure, thanks to my friends in Mexico and me, we were able to over come the biggest obstacle for this project, which was Mexico's opposition to making this project a bi-national project. You see, PUB spent millions on the project, but it was like the Port Bridge to nowhere that had no partner and taxpayers were out of $21 million. Thanks to our initiatives and hard work we made the weir project a doable project that will eventually become a reality and will be a huge economic engine, so it was not a failure. Thanks to Henry Najera who helped me block the opposition from Atkinson, Troiani, Gowen, Camarillo, Carlos Cascos, Marin and others who almost succeeded and were eager to let Tony Mtz partner take over the project for a cost of $2.0 million with $500,000 up front as consultants we made it a bi-national project at no cost to PUB or the city. I put a lot of time and paid for a lot of my travel out of pocket, but to set you straight-this effort paid off and it was not a failure.

DeleteThe DWI charge you refer to was when I was headed to catch a flight to Washington to lodge a formal complaint on misappropriations of HUD monies. I tried to get the city manager to correct this, but he would not do it, so I felt the need to file the complaint. Again, Troiani, Atkinson, Cabler,and Congressman Ortiz tried to block my meetings with HUD, but were unsuccessful. The result led into an investigation that proved over $2.0 million has been misappropriated and Cabler knew, but did nothing. Ben Medina had to leave and has sued the city, which will lead to a most likely settlement, because I believe Ben will eventually prove the misappropriations was done with the city managers oral instructions for pet projects for commissioners like Gowen. So, my trip was successful and there was never a conviction on this DWI charge, because they could not prove I was intoxicated. You also refer to the dog on the balcony, which I do not apologize for trying to help a helpless creature that was stuck between the railing and the floor of the balcony. You find fault for being a humanitarian and caring person, which says a lot about you. I rather err on the side of humane treatment then worry about your criticism. What are my personal problems, that I was framed by the city manager with the help of Pete Gonzalez and the former police chief Carlos Garica who could not get the FBI to prosecute me, but they pushed hard to send me to prison with Atkinson and others insisting I be ruined, because it served their purpose and the rest of you went along like sheep, when I was the only one with no personal agenda on the commission. I assure you, none of what has been happening at the city would have occurred with me there, but I was an obstacle. it is very obvious I was framed, especially when they themselves destroyed the evidence that would have proved who picked up the check from the finance department. They shredded the log who signed for the check and destroyed the copies of the check. So, I think some people like you want to justify crucifying me and are delusional in their effort to create a perception that I am a thief and everything you blast me for, because it serves your conscience to justify electing people like the mayor and the mess the city is in with Cabler being allowed to do as he wishes. He even watches TV while at work, because he does nothing, other than manipulate others to meet his needs and commissioners who keep there for life. He is like J Edgar Hoover that knows how to keep people in line to get what he wants. He was a cop and had no experience as city manager and has managed to manipulate to get a severance pay contract worth over $220,000, plus a guaranteed job contract for life and can watch TV without worry what anyone thinks.

Do you criticize me because you want to see Eddie elected or is it because you believe that what Eddie has done and support his special interest agenda is the right agenda for our county. Stand up for Eddie if you believe in his agenda and do not focus on me, but point out the marvelous qualities you admire about Eddie's leadership and what his track record supports that he will do for us as county judge. If that is the best you can base electing Eddie who has scamed citizens to enrich himself and special interest, then hopefully the readers here will realize that Dan is a far better candidate. ReplyDeleteJennifer, if by "ghetto" comments you mean comments that are against Pat and his boy-du-jour Dan, then I guess you are right. That being said, look who you are defending. Pat has had a shady history and bullied everybody from public commenter to commissioner during his tenure as mayor. Dan always has a self-interest when voting and will abstain or be absent for any votes not associated with one of his interests. The County roads around Harlingen are a mess and much of that area lacks decent infrastructure. Jennifer, you claim we have to respect people. Answer me then how can we support a man who has disrepected his constituents, of which I am one, time and time again. There are hard truths that we must deal with. Truths like Pat will so readily settle a grudge that he would never give any of his perceived enemies even the slightest chance. Pat is a vindictive, awnry man and anyone who knows Pat does not associate with him and every knows anyone who associates with Pat is bad news.

People who are driven by hate and those who continuously bash me when they know I was found innocent and bash me are the bullies. I was a good mayor who tried to do what was right and always stood up for the people of Brownsville. The only bully on the commission was Atkinson and your reference to public comments is unfair, as I always expected the commentators to follow the rules. When cmentators did not, I had to enforce the rules. That is called doi g my job to maintain order, but you elected Tony and want to elect a other self serving politician who prefer to enrich himself and his friends. I support candidates like Dan that will stand up to special interest when they want to hurt our community. And, you are special interest when you seek to use me, instead of the facts to promote hate.
