"Good afternoon, Mr. Barton.
Juan Fidencio Trevion |
As possibly the newest local Brownsville blogger, I wanted to thank you for being a part of the reason why I became interested in this field. The way you use your voice to inform people is inspiring, and I hope to emulate that effectiveness in Brownsville Bright. Consider me a friendly face. I hope we can both be positive influences to our city."
Juan Fidencio Trevino
What are his qualifications? What makes him a "positive influence" in Brownsville? To Mr he is just another bufon with a computer able to pat Internet service.
ReplyDeleteHello, anon. I am a semester away from my BA in English. I enjoy writing and decided to see how I could incorporate my passion to help our city.
DeleteI figured the best way to encourage others to involve themselves in Brownsville's development would be to try involving myself! I hope you enjoy my articles, but, if you don't for whatever reason, feel free to let me know how I can improve. Have a great day!
It seems as if you are the "bufon" with nothing to do except say, NO, No, it CAN'T BE.
ReplyDeleteFucking 7-11 clerk as a blogger?
ReplyDeleteJust your friendly neighborhood writer man,
DeleteTrying to make this community brighter, man (or woman or other).
I can see this dude covering local Mexicans and nothing more.
ReplyDeleteFor now, I probably will stick to local things. I do hope to expand my coverage within the year though.
DeleteWhy the negative comments with out seeing what this guy has to offer? The more bloggers the better. Don't you realize that south Texas has been abandon by the "accredited" media services? Bloggers fill that void by attending city and county meetings that your taco eating ass is to lazy to attend. That is one reasion why corruption is rampant here. The brownsville herald has zero investigative reporters and is supported by the advertising dollars of organizations they should be investigating like bisd, tsc and especially the thiefs at pub. I may not always agree with the liberal obama cock sucking bloggers like Jim and Rrun Rrun but I sure do support their right to free speach. Thanks for your service Jim. You are most appreciated. Good luck Juan.
ReplyDeleteThank you, anon. I hope to do a good job at this. People deserve to be informed in some way or another.
DeleteGeeze, give this guy a chance.
ReplyDeleteHe looks lost and he wants to blog stuff about the city? Get a shave, kid and stop looking like a bum. Be a Pro, not a Ho.
DeleteThank you, Ben.
DeleteAnon, you're right. I look more professional shaved.
I think they are dumping on this dude cause he looks too Mexican. Plus, what's he doing kissing up to another blogger? Poor bastard's not gonna make it.
ReplyDeleteNoe Sauceda
As they say, like crabs in a bucket.....tear each other down. Your city is doomed.
DeleteNoe and anon, I sent this message to Mr. Barton as a sign of peace. I hope that he and I can do great things for our community by informing people.
DeleteCan anyone provide a link to his site? All this talk, and I still can't find it.

DeleteOr search for "Brownsville Bright" on Facebook. Your support would be much appreciated and I'm always open to receiving messages with information that can be used for Brownsville's benefit.
To Noe Sauceda . .....when you make ignorant comments to put someone down, you only make yourself look worse . Grow up , you're not in junior high anymore .
ReplyDeleteWhen is the next vegan potluck?
ReplyDeleteI will contact the organizer about this. I'm certain she will be pleased to know that people are interested in her event.
DeleteKeep in mind, however, that, as a college student, she must plan things around her class schedule and homework.
What is the problem with moving it to a museum? It's been moved before this isn't even it's historical location. No one is rewriting history when it's already been moved twice. If people find it offensive and the Brownsville museum likes it so much, why not put it in that garden next to the museum?
ReplyDeleteRelocation seems to be the widely-accepted "compromise" to this situation.
DeletePersonally, I would want it removed completely. It is unnecessary, and there are other ways to teach future generations about the bright and dark parts of Brownsville history without keeping this rock intact.
Another reason why I support its complete removal is that Stone and other local Confederate sympathizers actively use it as a symbol of respect toward a known racist historical figure. Their outdated bigotry should not be tolerated.
